Beyond The Clouds

First quarter of this year has just ended and I already have my most favorite drama of the year. I've been following updates about this drama even before it was aired. Not only because of the actors but also because I love revenge melos. I am a fan of melodramas but not the extreme types. Reading the synopsis, character descriptions and watching the teasers, I was instantly sold. Beyond the clouds may have not garnered good ratings in Korea but  many international fans like myself completely fell in love with it. For me, it was well written, from the conflicts to the characters. 

IRIS2, That Winter, The Wind Blows

If there are dramas I look forward to this 2013, IRIS2 and TWTWB are on the top of the list.  I don't know yet the details of IRIS2 but I must admit, I want to watch it because of the actors and because I love action dramas. In the trailer, we see scenes similar to Athena. I wouldn't care even if the concept it's recycled concept, I'm more interested with the badass fight scenes. Just don't give me a totally nonsense plot.

Another drama that caught my attention because of the cast is That Winter, The Wind Blows. The story is about a gambler who will pretend as the long-lost brother of a blind heiress. Jo In Sung and Song Hye Gyo are the drama leads. JIS is the gambler and SHG is the blind heiress. The teaser got me interested especially that Jung Eun Ji (Answer Me 1997) and Kim Bum (Padam Padam) are in it

It's already Tuesday but no preview for episode 15 has been posted yet. Sigh. I'm patiently waiting and checking from time to time. 35 hours to go before the 15th episode's broadcast. Ahh time is so slow. I've been browsing NG videos and I found this MV created by lemonlimetea. It summarizes all 14 episodes, great video. It is so sad, makes me wanna cry. It shows how much EunMa love each other, and care for each other.

Nice Guy Episode 13 Preview

The video preview for episode 13 has just been uploaded by KBS.  Let's enjoy this preview for now EunMa shippers. Anyways, it's only 28 hours before the broadcast of episode 13.  As you can see from the photo above, Eun Gi is having some bonding time with Eun Seok. Another good thing about EG's amnesia is that all her hatreds have been wiped out. Now that she's restarting everything, she now gives ES a chance to be close to her.

Nice Guy Episode 9

Rewatching the accident scene. I think Ma Ru and Eun Gi were both unaware of who's on the other car. They're both suicidal and their minds were floating. Ma Ru smiled when he saw a car oncoming and in the same lane because he was ready to die (because like I said, he's suicidal!). Their head lights were both in high beam, so it's highly possible that they didn't recognize each other's car, plus they're both not in right state of mind. Aw. So is this the start of tear-jerking episodes? Which is LKH's forte. I just hope that the narrative won't go too sentimental and won't become unrealistic and illogical. The last part of the episode is really sad, I want to cry :(

Nice Guy Episode 9 & 10 Leaked Spoilers

I've been high since this morning because of Nice Guy. I couldn't focus on my work because my mind's preoccupied by the upcoming episodes. Actually, I'm quite lunatic today, crazy over these released spoiler photos and recaps. I'm still shocked and I keep on trying to interpret it differently. I am desperately hoping that EunMa OTP will be happy and be together soon. I fear that this might be the start of gloomy, frustrating and worse episodes. I don't want NG to end up like other Lee Kyung Hee's previous works. Her A Love to Kill and MISA started good but lost their spark in the middle and  became worse as they reached the end. 

Below are the spoilers I am talking about. The recaps of scenes from episode 9 and 10. I got it from Soompi NG forum.

React: Nice Guy Episodes 1 and 2

Last weekend, I got to watch the first two episodes of Nice Guy a.k.a. Innocent Man. And thank God it's worth the wait. All my expectations were right and I bet this drama will be good all throughout. The first week gave us so many issues to solve. For only two episodes, we already learned so much about the characters. And we are more puzzled about the history of each issue as we get to know the characters.

The writer is so good in plotting the story. At this early, we're already given clues about the conflicts and issues. And yet, we are still asking what's going on.

As to the actors, I must say they are all good. Actually, I didn't know that Park Si Yeon's acting is that good. I loved the scene where she was crying and screaming. She did very well.

Nice Guy premieres next week

September 12 it is! Oh yeah it's next week. I can't wait for the premiere and to be introduced to the characters of Nice Guy. The plot is intriguing and I love the description of the characters. Though I didn't like how the writer ended most of her dramas like  A love to kill, I loved the flow of the story especially during the first half of the drama. I'm sorry I love You was also good even though it was a little painful to watch. I bet Nice Guy will be a good one,too. Just don't kill the OTP please dear writer. Killing one or both the main leads is only okay if it is reasonable or really necessary for the story.

Okay, back to Nice Guy,  it is premiering this coming week. First we had the two teasers, now we have the preview of the first episode. Oh my all those are thrilling, even the stills released by KBS. It hasn't started yet but I'm already into Eun Gi's character, as well as the OTP. I know Song Joong Ki will do well with his character. I've seen him as playful playboy in Sungkyunkwan, so it's not so new. But I like that this drama is mellow, I'm excited to see him do a more serious and little heavy drama. Even though his character is described as nice guy turns bad boy, I know his good boy self remains and that's why Eun Gi falls for him.

So much for that. Haha so here are the teasers and preview. Let's enjoy and be excited altogether.

I swear I'm swooning over these new stills. Song Joong Ki has always been my crush since Sungkyunkwan Scandal and I liked Moon Chae-won in Shining Inheritance.  I didn't expect that these two have very good chemistry. These are only stills but I'm already dying of their sweetness. Cute and convincing couple.

Upcoming drama: Nice Guy

Am I the last one posting about this upcoming kdrama? Well, I've been reading news and updates about this drama since the final cast has been introduced and announced, but I just couldn't find to time to write and react.  

Okay, so Nice Guy is classified as melodrama. I know some of you hate this genre, but to me, any genre is fine as long as the story is interesting. I have no specific type of dramas in mind, I just give one a try and see how it goes.

Though there is no network and schedule yet for the broadcast of this drama, the production keeps on releasing stills from the set to make the fans more excited. Well, it's effective, I was so thrilled when I saw these photos. Can't wait for the premiere. 

I can't deny that I see good chemistry between this OTP. And these are only stills, what more if we already have the actual scenes. And who's not excited to see Kim Hyun Joong being badass and romantic at the same time? Different from his previous characters, Ji Hoo and Seung Jo. 

Big Episode 13 Preview

When I finished episode 10, I was already convinced that our OTP are Da Ran and Kyung Joon. I could see how scared Da Ran was when she thought Kyung Joon already went back to his body. She was so confused at the time, and could not stop crying. Aaah! Lee Min Jung did well on that scene. I was crying with Da Ran. Lol! That's my favorite episode (so far).

Upcoming drama City Conquest

Two weeks ago, it was reported that Jung Yoo Mi got the City Conquest's female lead role. And I was happy to hear that news. It's about time. She has already proven herself in A Thousand Days' Promise and Rooftop Prince. She was an effective semi-villain/ second female lead in those dramas. I think it's interesting to see her this time as the good girl and the love interest of our hero, played by Kim Hyun Joong.


Yesterday, Jung left Incheon Airport to join the cast and crew in Japan who already started filming. 

City Conquest is a drama adaptation of the popular comic with the same title. The story is about a man who was abandoned by his father when he was young. He grew up with resentment and eventually, he becomes a hero who fights against the corrupt society.

BIG episode 10 preview

It's exciting episode tonight! Kyung Joon's body finally wakes up, but we're not sure whether there will be switch back of souls or Yoon Jae's soul will stay and wake up in Kyung Joon's body. Oh no, Da Ran is falling for Kyung Joon for real? Or she's just confused because he has Yoon Jae's face?

Still confused with the real OTP, but I'll be happy either way. If Da Ran ends up with Kyung Joon, I'll be okay with it and will forget the fact that Kyung Joon is still a teenager. Because like I said last time, I can't deny Da Ran and Kyung Jae's damn sweetness!

Reaction: BIG Episode 8

When I saw the preview for 8th episode, I thought Da Ran is really falling for Kyung Joon. But then again, that was a wrong interpretation. Lol! I remember I also misinterpreted TK2H episode previews before, many times.

So Da Ran still loves Yoon Jae, and I have nothing against it since Da Ran-Yoon Jae was my original OTP bet. Plus I'm still not a fan of noona-dongsaeng love. But I can't deny most Da Ran-Kyung Jae moments were really swooning. Episode 8 ended with new twist and turn. The moment we've been waiting for, Kyung Joon and Yoon Jae's souls will be switching back soon. And I'm excited about it. I know many things will happen with the switch back. Will Kyung Joon remember everything when he gets back to his body? Does Yoon Jae really love Da Ran? How would he react if he finds out that he's now married with Da Ran? 

Big Episode 8 Preview

Aww. So our Kyung Joon feels Da Ran only cares for him because he has Yoon Jae's face. Oh well, it's normal to be insecure especially that he knows how much she loved Yoon Jae before. Don't be sad baby Kyung Joon, Da Ran sincerely cares for you. She is just confused since you are only a 19 year old kiddo and you have her ex's face.

First Impressions: Big

I have not decided yet which drama to tune in, but most likely, I will choose Big. It's too early to tell whether this drama is good or not. But, so far, this drama gets my attention. I'm not yet totally into it, everything is a so-so, but I somehow find it entertaining and interesting.

I am happy to see that there's more to the story (if my assumptions were right). Big appears to be not just purely comedy. I hate it when the writer focuses so much on the comical side and compromises quality. Yeah, everyone wants to be entertained, and to have good laughs while watching is the best thing. But more than that, we want a show with some sense and depth.
