The Thieves' overwhelming success in Korean box office

The Thieves is a certified box office hit in Korea and it's no surprise since it has been creating noise even before it premiered. We were all very excited seeing the powerhouse cast, those cool stills and teasers, and hot and badass characters. The film even beat The Dark Knight Rises which is a big hit worldwide.

The total admissions or no. of tickets sold for the first 5 days is 2,866,870, making the film the second highest opening of all time in Korea. The number is expected to increase on its 2nd and 3rd week and might reach 10 million viewers. And here's the catch, Kim Soo Hyun promised to give the 10,000,000th moviegoer a piggyback and watch the movie together. That's so sweet! I hope he keeps that promise. And I'm wishing they will hit that target.
